Sportive medals are bigger than race medals

Cycling events hand out some of the widest hardware in endurance sport — large discs, thick ribbons, occasionally something closer to a plaque. Fifteen of them take the room that twenty-five running medals would.

Worth adjusting for when you read the capacity table below: the figures there assume standard 25 mm ribbons, and cycling rarely uses them.

Sportive medals often arrive on wide ribbons or webbing straps, which take more rail than the 25 mm the capacity figures assume.

The same medal display is cut in several widths. Buying as a gift? Count what is already in the drawer and go one size up.

What it is actually made of

The medal hanger is AISI 304 stainless steel — food-grade, marine-grade, the same material as a good kitchen worktop — at 2.5-3 mm depending on which width you take. It will outlast the collection on it.

Medals sit on a single continuous bar. No hooks means no ceiling on the count and no gaps when a medal comes off.

Fitting it to the wall

Comes with stainless standoffs, fixings and a paper drilling template. On plasterboard use proper anchors rather than the plugs supplied — a full display is heavier than it looks.

When it fills up

A second unit mounts flush against the first, so the wall still reads as one piece rather than two things hung near each other. The widest version holds up to 110 medals across three rails.

Delivery

Every medal display is cut and finished in our own workshop and dispatched within 3–5 working days. Returns accepted for fourteen days.
