Obstacle races and functional-fitness events hand out some of the chunkiest hardware in sport — thick discs, wide webbing straps, occasionally something with a moving part in the middle. Twenty of them together weigh more than people expect.

At 60 and 75 cm this display is cut from 3 mm steel rather than 2.5, and the standoffs are stainless rather than plated. On plasterboard, use proper anchors instead of the plugs in the box.

Obstacle-race medals are frequently the heaviest thing a runner owns. Twenty on one rail is a real load, so the wall fixing matters more here than on a display of road medals.

This medal hanger is produced in the widths below. If you are buying it as a gift, size on the collection they already have rather than on what looks right on the wall.

Heavy medals need width, not just length. Choose 60 or 75 cm and use the 3 mm steel.

The steel, and why it matters

Every medal display in the range is AISI 304 — the same grade used for kitchen surfaces and marine fittings — at 2.5-3 mm depending on width. It doesn't rust, doesn't chip, and doesn't need looking after.

The bar is continuous. That's the whole difference from a hook rack: hooks give you a fixed count, a rail gives you a length.

Mounting

Everything is in the box: stainless standoffs, screws, wall plugs and a paper template. Mark through the template, drill, done — about ten minutes.

Running out of room

Buy a second and line it up directly beneath or beside this one — the proportions are designed so a pair looks intentional. The widest version holds up to 110 medals across three rails.

Every medal display is cut and finished in our own workshop and dispatched within 3–5 working days. Returns accepted for fourteen days.
